To Sesame Flyers International Third Annual Scholarship Awards Gala
2012

It is not always easy to hold forth a vision in your heart. You may
see what you would have the world to be, but how many of us have the
grasp and determination to hold that vision and do the work so
necessary to make it happen. So many distractions, the murmurs of
naysayers and pull of negative influences work overtime to tempt us
to stray from the world we wish to create. One that is safe,
supportive and allows us to prosper in creative ways.
It takes discipline to hold on to a dream - a Vision without
doubting yourself or giving weight to the voices of those who are
too afraid to walk your chosen path. Possessing Vision imagines
worlds that are possible in spite of what you see. When you hold a
vision in your heart, you have the courage to move forward to an
uncertain future through an unstable past.
Vision allows you to see past the pitfalls and the obstacles that
others think are in the way. Perhaps those perceived obstacles are
there to keep those who do not understand away from the joy of
having accomplished the dream made manifest.
Our Third annual Scholarship and Awards ceremony this year admires
the Vision of the following individuals:
Community Pillar Honorees – Dr. John E. Harvey, Founder and
President, DAH Consulting, Inc., Davis ‘Junior’ Gayle, Owner,
Tropical Paradise Caterers and Restaurant, Frederick Morton, Jr.,
Founder, Chairman and CEO Tempo Networks, LLC, and Ricardo Gomez of
B2B Entertainment - each used the power of Vision to create a life
for themselves that marvels the achievements of others.
Please join us on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Brooklyn Children’s
Museum as we celebrate the accomplishments of our Community Pillars,
honor Janet Cummings, Sesame Flyers Vice-Chairperson with a
Foundation Award, recognize Employee of the Year, Kesha Shortt,
Parent of the Year, Marsha Escayg and present our first ever
Community Bridge Builder Award to Ann-Rhea Smith and the Volunteer
of the Year, Ms. Luzett Logan.
Sesame Flyers International is honored to present the 2012 Visionary
Award to Hon. Dr. Una Clarke, President, Una Clarke Associates.
Sesame Flyers will also present scholarships to deserving college
bound graduating seniors. We will all come to understand the power
of Vision embodied by the lives our honorees and hope that you will
come away inspired to live life as you see it.
