| So, be counted, fill out the 2020 census, Vote, make your voices heard and matter, choose your leadership wisely. Sesame Flyers is making a commitment to be an organizing force to make the difference and lasting change that is needed now and for our generations to come. We will do our part in using our platform as a 37-year-old institution to face and address racism - once and for all, while providing exceptional programming for our youth and community at large. We need each other now, more than ever for the strength to continue on. Sesame has always been your family and we will continue to be. Let us come together and reconnect this Saturday at our first Virtual Gala. I hope it will be a much needed source of joy and inspiration. | Sesame Flyers alongside Bildersee Junior High School will be distributing food to the community on Thursday June 11, 2019 at 2pm at Canarsie Community Reformed Church located at 1155 East 93rd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11236. This food distribution is open to the public and all those that are in need. |

| Sesame Flyers International is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2020 Scholarship Awards. Sesame Flyers is very proud to present this year’s Scholarship awardees, as they are students who are guided by a sense of purpose and are making contributions to the community. Howard University, Clark Atlanta University, and University of Bridgeport are among the colleges to which our awardees have been accepted or are attending. The recipients of the 2020 Chad Magloire Scholarship are Syenna Alexander and Jaedon Arnasalam. Meliah Descartes is the 2020 Melissa Hunte Scholarship Awardee. Join with the Sesame Flyers International community as we congratulate these exceptional students on June 6, 2020, at the Caribbean Heritage Cultural Scholarship and Awards Gala. A celebration of Caribbean culture and family, the virtual room opens at 5:30pm with a DJ Easy set. The program begins at 6pm with Natasha Marcelle as our host for the evening, Celebrate the achievements of our youth by attending the Caribbean Heritage Cultural Scholarship and Awards Gala. RSVP to the event and you will be sent the link and password for the event. Before being the Executive Director of Sesame Flyers, I am a black man with a black son in this country that’s not ok. With a racist, unlawful president at the trigger, who understands the power of the tweet, I went out into the streets to peacefully protest with my fellow community leaders, activists and passionate citizens. It became clear that the time of reckoning, facing and healing the injustice we have all known our entire lives has come. A Corona Virus rebound however, is the one lurking threat that may force us to pivot to the 21st century’s reality of virtual protesting, as the most powerful social-economic organizing tool, billions of synchronized educated voices young and old across the planet will learn to harness to finally bring about real change, from the safety of our homes, far out of the reach of rogue police, rubber bullets, violence, destruction and further loss of life. It may not appear right away, what we can all do now, however “faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase” - Martin Luther King Jr.
