In life, when it comes down to choosing a career path, one that suits you, that you will enjoy waking up to everyday, is a difficult decision. And I am convinced that the most difficult task about it is actually staying in the game and sticking it through. Growing up, I never seem to have been able to finalize exactly what I wanted to do, where I wanted to be in life. Constantly being asked in school, where do I see myself in ten years, my answer remained “Successful”.
Today I can proudly say that, I will be a Midwife and American Sign Language Interpreter coming 2021. Both career paths were influenced based off of experience of volunteering in the hospital during school and having a summer internship there for two summers straight. Also, from television shows, and all that I’ve experienced in my life thus far. My English teacher quoted a wise man and told me “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. Hearing that quote changed everything for me and from there I knew that I needed to get it together and fast.
I look forward to my future. I know that my studies will be challenging, I may even feel like giving up and loose up on my sleep. But success was never an easy path, and if it were easy, how proud of yourself would you really feel after you’ve accomplished your goals? I will surround myself with those who will encourage me and can definitely relate with me. I believe in myself and I know that this is what I want. My passion is to be a Midwife and help the hearing impaired community in all ways that I am capable of. I’ll be waking up every morning, eager to start my day and get paid to do the things I enjoy.
