The Get R.I.C.H
(Reaching Individuals to change Humanity) Program of Sesame
Flyers International is a job readiness and career
development program for high school juniors and seniors.
This program is the umbrella under which the Neighborhood
Development Area (NDA), the Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
and the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) programs
operate under. Each program provides an essential part of
the career development path. We work with these youth and
help to prepare them for getting a job and or going to
college. We work with these participants for approximately
12 weeks to complete their resume, cover letter, mock
interviews, business etiquette workshops, computer classes
and community service. We then track them for 2 years to
make sure they are successful; remain in school, have a job
or learning a trade. In an effort to provide our youth with
various resources we have created the Sesame Flyers
Employment Services (SFES). SFES will provide employers with
trained employees and give our youth the experience they
need to succeed in the working world.
The
GET R.I.C.H. Program is split up into two parts, GET R.I.CH.
and Rich Young Enterpreneurs (R.Y.E).
GET R.I.C.H
(Reaching Individuals To Change Humanity) - The GET R.I.C.H
Program teaches young people ages 14-18 how to become
leaders in their communities and schools. The GET
R.I.C.H Program focuses on financial independence. We
believe that it is important for young people to know how to
make their own money by fundraising
having
a job, and creating multiple income streams for themselves.
In the Get R.I.C.H Program we engage in many fun activities.
An example of these activities are playing trivia games,
trips, community service, career counceling and event
planning.
Monthly Theme.
Every month we have a theme that
focuses on leadership development and financial
independence. Examples of our themes are teamwork,
leadership, and job readiness.
Meetings.
We have meetings twice a week on Wednesday and Thursday at 5
pm sharp. During these meetings, we provide members with
pizza, Chinese, and other delicious foods.
Safe Space.
Safe space is a set of guidelines that Get R.I.C.H. members
came up with to make our space a peaceful environment.
Examples are be on time, have fun, respect each other and onfidentiality.
Trips.
As a group we plan trips we want to go on such as bowling
and Dorney Park .
Service.
We participate in service projects throughout the year
including the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk.
Open Rap.
During open rap sessions everyone writes down a topic that
is randomly selected for discussion. This gives us an
opportunity to speak freely about issues that we face
everyday.
Career Counseling
gives our participants an opportunity to prepare their
resumes, learn interview skills and receive internships.
Event Planning.
Participants have the option to plan different events that
their friends, family and community can attend such as a
basketball tournament, a fashion show, and open mic poetry
night.
How to Join
You must attend 4 meetings in a row. If you miss 2 or more
meetings, you will have to start over again. This program is
completely voluntary and all of our members are here because
they want to be.

about what to do with my life. Before I was not
really doing anything but now I feel my life is changing
around and I got this program to thank for that " -

Before I came I had so many questions. I benefited
from the Financial Literacy Workshop. The
facilitator showed that it is important to think of the
future. Life depends on what you do today. I

"
I found it helpful because it gave me ideas on how to save
money and get a lot of money. If you use the tactics
that you are told you will become a wealthy person before
you know it, it really works, because I tried it you
should try it too ! " -
